Student Loans - How
much loan can you get?
The maximum amount of loan that you can get in 2004/05 is;
- £4,095 for students living away from home
- £5,050 for students in London and living away
from home
- £3,240 for students living at home
75% of the maximum loan is available to all eligible students
regardless of any other income they have. Whether you can get
any or all of the remaining 25% depends on your income and that
of your family. This will be assessed by your LEA.
The Royal Geographical Society
The Royal Geographical Society
(with The Institute of British Geographers) is an important
source of funding for geographical research, fieldwork and
teaching. The Society’s grants are wide-ranging and offer
support to desk and field-based researchers, research teams and
school teachers. Grants are for work in both the UK and overseas
and range in value from £350 to £15,000.
The
Army Education Grants
The Army is offering Education Grants to people
staying on at school or studying a range of courses at college
or university.
And, if you are thinking of a career as an officer, you may
qualify for
sponsorship.
The
New Opportunities Fund
The New Opportunities Fund and the Community Fund to work
together to create a single new lottery distributor – the Big
Lottery Fund.
Launched on 1 June 2004, the Big Lottery Fund will build on
the experience and best practice of both organisations to
simplify funding in those areas where the two bodies currently
overlap, and to ensure lottery funding provides the best
possible value for money.

UCAS Scholarship

scholarships, bursaries and awards are available to you.
The Nuffield Foundation
The Elizabeth Nuffield Educational Fund was set up in 1956 by
Lady Nuffield. The Fund gives grants to women studying to
improve their employment prospects. At present, grants are given
only towards paying for the care of children, or other
dependants with specific needs, to women studying for a first
qualification in higher education.
